General conditions of participation

1. General

1.1 These General Conditions of Participation apply to the participation and the related ticket sales of events organized by IMK. The general terms and conditions apply.

1.2 The organizer reserves the right to make changes and additions to these regulations. Possible changes and additions become valid by publication on this website.

2. Registration and conclusion of contract

2.1 Registration for participation in the event is only possible via the Conference Management Platform.

2.2 With the information provided on the website, the organizer makes an offer for the conclusion of a purchase contract. The participant accepts the offer for the conclusion of a purchase contract by completing the booking process in full and clicking on the button "Complete booking subject to charge" in the last order screen. The effective acceptance of the offer by the participant requires that the participant has filled in all required fields in the booking mask and has accepted the privacy policy, the GTC as well as the general conditions of participation.

2.3 The contract for participation in the event is only concluded after IMK has confirmed the registration in writing via e-mail (booking confirmation). Changes and/or additions to the contract must be made in writing.

3. Prices

3.1 The price stated in the booking confirmation and the accompanying invoice is the final price and binding vis-à-vis the participant.

3.2 All prices include the statutory value added tax (VAT) where applicable.

3.3 If special prices are granted for reductions (students, members of certain societies, etc.), this is also indicated separately. Any discounts will only be granted upon presentation of proper proof (student ID, confirmation from the university, confirmation of membership). The proof must be provided before the start of the event. If the proof cannot be provided, the participant must pay the difference between the full price and the reduced price at the beginning of the event in order to be entitled to admission.

If no reductions are shown, they will not be granted.

4. Payment

4.1 Payment shall be made via the methods indicated on the website. All prices are due immediately upon conclusion of the contract and at the latest on the day of the event.

4.2 Payment by invoice / bank transfer:

If the participant does not pay within 30 days after receipt of the invoice, IMK may withdraw from the contract. If IMK withdraws from the contract, the participant loses his right to participate in the event. Any fees arising from the transfer shall be borne by the participant.

4.3 Payment by credit card:

When paying by credit card (MasterCard, Visa), the participant will be asked to enter the credit card data during the payment process. The corresponding credit card account will subsequently be debited for the amount of the booking.

5. Cancellation

5.1 If the participant does not wish to participate in the event, he must declare his withdrawal from the contract in writing or by e-mail to IMK.

a) In case of withdrawal/cancellation up to four weeks before the event, 50% of the participation fees will be refunded.
b) In case of later withdrawal/cancellation no refund will be made.

5.2 If the registered participant is not able to attend the event, the participant has the possibility to indicate a substitute person for the participation in writing or by e-mail. If the place can be reassigned, a processing fee of CHF 60 will be charged. This also applies if there is a waiting list for the event.

5.3 Withdrawal/cancellation due to illness or accident will be treated equally. The paid costs are to be reported by the participant to his private travel cancellation insurance.

6. Services

6.1 The scope of the contractual service within the framework of the event results from the information documents, the information on the event website, any existing registration forms and the confirmation of participation by the organizer. In the event of contradictions and in any case, the service description in the booking confirmation shall be decisive.

6.2 The participant is obliged to check in on site (at the congress secretariat or at the self check-in). His personal badge will then be printed. The badge is valid for the entire duration of the event and must be worn visibly.

6.3 The organizer reserves the right to appoint a substitute speaker or to adjust the program in exceptional cases.

6.4 Travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the event offer, unless services of this kind are expressly listed in the event description.

If a contractual partner does not make use of properly offered services in whole or in part, there shall be no claim for reimbursement of the participation fee.

7. Issue of confirmation of participation and award of credits

7.1 The organizer shall issue a confirmation of participation for the event to the participants present.

7.2 The confirmation of participation includes: Date and name of the event, place of implementation, name of the participant and information on the awarding of credits.

7.3 The participant will receive his confirmation of participation by e-mail no later than seven days after the event.
In some cases, the completion of a feedback questionnaire is mandatory in order to receive a confirmation of participation. The participant will be informed of this in advance.

7.4 The participant will receive his confirmation of participation only for the days on which his presence at the event can be verified (for the purpose of the check-in list).

8. Cancellation of the event

8.1 For urgent reasons, the organizer may cancel the event with a reasonable period of notice. This also applies to social and evening programs (networking events).

8.2 In the event of cancellation of the event, the organizer shall refund the full amount of the payment made. Any additional costs incurred by the participant will not be reimbursed.

9. Copyright and other rights

9.1 The lectures and event documents issued are protected by copyright and may only be used for personal use. Rights of use shall only be transferred by express written granting of rights of use. Duplication, distribution, processing or public reproduction of any kind is strictly prohibited and requires the written consent of the organizer.

9.2 Audio and video recordings and descriptions of the event, the event results as a whole or in parts are not permitted.

10. Picture material/photographs

10.1 Declaration of consent to photo and/or film recordings

Photographs and/or video recordings will be made during the event. The participant of the event agrees irrevocably and free of charge that the organizer is entitled to publish these recordings, on which the participant can be recognized, in connection with the naming of the event, e.g. on the congress website and/or the website of the company.

11. Liability

11.1 Liability for damages caused during the journey to and from the event locations, as well as for losses and accidents is - as far as legally permissible - excluded.
